Welcome

In Reception class we learn under the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which allows us to learn in a fun and exciting way through play experiences.

We have themes which we follow each half term but we also allow time for us to explore our own interest areas such as insects, the weather and pets.

September 2012 introduced the NEW Revised Framework for the EYFS setting out how children will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development.

4 Specific

• literacy
• mathematics;
• understanding of the world;
• expressive arts and design;

Reception children have access to RE.
