Benjamin Britten

Benjamin Britten was a famous English composer. He wrote many musical pieces which have influenced musicians today.

Year 6 have loved learning about him over the last few weeks and, last week, we listened to one of his pieces called 'The Storm'.

We learnt that he liked to write pieces about fishermen because he was good friends with a lot of fishermen.

Last week Olivia came across a 50 pence coin which was produced to celebrate the life of Britten. It was made in 2013 to celebrate 100 years since his birth.
