Forest School – Autumn 1

In Cedar Class, we build on all the fabulous learning from Elm Class (Reception) and Apple Class (Year 1), whilst preparing for the transition to juniors the following September. We bring learning to life as much as possible, using our outdoor areas and practical resources, and we have various visitors coming into school such as the fire service during PSHE and a scuba diver to link to one to our English texts.

Our visits outside of school include a local walk to look at landmarks in Kirkham, visiting our neighbouring church to make Christingles in our RE lessons, experiencing life as Victorians at the Judges’ Lodgings in Lancaster and visiting Showtown and the RNLI station in Blackpool as part of our Seaside topic.

We LOVE reading in Cedar Class and we have close links to the library right next to school, often visiting there to enjoy books or to find specific resources to help us with our learning.
