School Uniform at Kirkham and Wesham Primary School

At Kirkham and Wesham Primary School, we encourage every child to wear their school uniform with pride. Our uniform helps to create a strong sense of belonging, supports equality and ensures children are ready to learn each day.

We ask that all items of clothing, footwear, lunch boxes, water bottles and personal belongings are clearly named. This enables lost property to be returned quickly and helps children take responsibility for their own belongings.

Supporting Our School Community

We recognise that families may choose to purchase branded or non-branded items. As long as clothing matches our school uniform expectations, both are equally acceptable, with the exception of the school tracksuit, which must display the KWPS logo.

If you require any support with school uniform, please contact the school office in confidence. We are always happy to help families wherever possible.

Daily School Uniform

Children should wear:

  • White polo shirt (with or without the school logo)
  • Grey trousers, grey shorts, grey skirt or grey pinafore dress
  • Red school jumper or red cardigan
  • Grey socks or grey tights
  • Sensible black school shoes

During warmer weather, children may also wear a red and white gingham summer dress.

All children should bring a clearly labelled water bottle to school each day (with or without the school logo).

School logo jumpers, cardigans and other branded uniform items are available from Uniform & Leisurewear, Kirkham. Generic uniform items may be purchased from any retailer.

PE Kit

Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on their allocated PE days.

The PE kit consists of:

  • White PE T-shirt (with or without the school logo)
  • Red shorts
  • Black trainers/pumps
  • KWPS school tracksuit with the official school logo

The school tracksuit with the KWPS logo is required as it is also worn for educational visits, sporting events and enrichment activities, helping staff to identify pupils quickly and ensuring the children represent the school with pride.

Jewellery

For health and safety reasons, jewellery should not be worn to school.

The only exception is one pair of small plain stud earrings, which must be removed or covered before PE lessons. Children should not bring valuable jewellery into school.

Watches

Children may wear a simple watch to school. However, smartwatches or watches capable of taking photographs, recording audio, sending messages or accessing the internet are not permitted.

Seasonal Clothing

Children should wear the same school uniform throughout the year.

During colder weather, pupils should bring a suitable waterproof coat. Hats, scarves and gloves may also be worn when appropriate.

Second-hand Uniform

Good quality second-hand uniform is available from school, subject to availability.

Please contact the school office if you would like further information.
