Our Head Boy and Head Girl Campaign
There has been lots of excitement at KWPS as our Year 6 pupils campaign to become our Head Boy and Head Girl for 2026–27!
Children who would like to take on these important leadership roles have been busy thinking of creative ways to explain why they would be a great representative for our school. We have seen fantastic campaign posters, speeches, poems and even raps, all prepared by the children themselves!
Candidates have had the opportunity to present their campaigns to the adults in school, sharing their ideas, their strengths and why they believe they would be a positive role model for our school community.
We have been incredibly proud of the confidence, creativity and courage our pupils have shown. Standing up and sharing your ideas with others isn't always easy, and every child who has put themselves forward should feel very proud.
The process is another way we bring pupil voice, Children's Rights and British Values to life at KWPS. It supports Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child – the right for children to express their views and for those views to be heard – while giving pupils first-hand experience of Democracy.
Our Head Boy and Head Girl will have an important role within school, representing KWPS, welcoming visitors, supporting school events and acting as positive role models for our younger pupils.
Most importantly, this process is about more than who is eventually chosen. It is about giving our children opportunities to have a voice, show courage, develop leadership skills and believe in themselves.
We can't wait to see who will become our Head Boy and Head Girl for 2026–27!
Belong. Believe. Be the Best You Can Be.
Our Head Boy and Head Girl are outstanding role models who consistently demonstrate our school values and follow our school rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe every day.
Following the School Prefect elections, members of staff carefully select the pupils who have shown exemplary behaviour, outstanding leadership and a commitment to making a positive difference throughout their time at KWPS.
As ambassadors for our school, the Head Boy and Head Girl proudly represent Kirkham and Wesham Primary School at events, support staff and younger pupils, and lead by example, inspiring others to Belong, Believe and Be the Best They Can Be.
