Reading Buddies
Our Reading Buddies are Year 5 pupils who support younger children in Key Stage 1 by reading with them and to them each day. These sessions help younger pupils develop confidence, fluency and a love of reading, while giving older children the opportunity to become positive role models and leaders.
Reading Buddies build strong relationships across the school and create a supportive reading culture where children encourage, inspire and learn from one another. Through this role, Year 5 pupils develop responsibility, communication skills and confidence while helping younger readers to flourish.
